In a recent interview to Stardust, Anil Kapoor had commented that Akshay Kumar had asked him why he (Anil) wasn’t asking Akshay to work with him. Anil went on to say, "I just told him, Dekh bhai, main kisika chamcha nahi hoon. I need the same kind of passion in an actor. If we have that, we’ll work together. I can’t beg and plead, neither will I lick an actor’s feet to cast him."
Apparently, Akshay is surprised about his name being dragged into this for no reason. When TOI texted Akshay to know his reaction, a common friend of both the actors promptly called up and clarified, "It is not Akshay who went to Anil for work but it was the other way round. Time and again, Anil has expressed his wish to work with Akshay, and Akshay was always all praise for the veteran actor."
The source also added that Anil is trying to grab some media attention by making such statements.
