At a press conference for the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards held earlier today, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan unveiled a special gold plated trophy which commemorates a hundred years of Indian cinema. Ash will receive the same trophy at the awards ceremony which will be held later this month (20th January to be precise) at the YRF studios.
Speaking at the press conference, the actress told reporters, "I am feeling very special as this is going to be very different. For the first time, I don't have any nominations because I didn't have any releases last year because of the special reason of having Aaradhya."
"Despite having no nominations, I am officially taking home the black lady (Filmfare trophy). I have had the privilege of being nominated throughout the career," she added.
Aishwarya recalls fond memories of receiving her first Filmfare award for Best Actress. She said, "When I got the first trophy, I truly felt special. I got it for the film 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. I got it at a very early age and it was very prestigious. For me, holding the black lady is equivalent to holding an Oscar."
Ash responded to questions about her comeback film by saying, "I cannot give you an exact date. There is no guarantee in a creative field. Whenever I come on board for any film, you all will get to know."
