In a recent interview, the young actress speaks about the differences between the southern film industries and Bollywood, and expresses her immense joy as the gaps bridge to entertain a wider range of audiences.

“The south Indian film industry is more traditional. This reflects in their work. The cultural differences, language and approach are completely different, while Bollywood is more open and caters to a wider audience,” Asin told IANS in a telephonic interview.

Furthermore, there is another key different which she states, “people are ready to accept you the way you are. They appreciate and value simplicity. You don’t have to wear make-up or be in your glamorous image when you make public appearances. But in Bollywood, it's all about the image of the star. You have to look glamorous in the public eye all the time.”.

When asked about her own experience in Bollywood so far, she replied, “Those who migrate from Tollywood or Kollywood or freshers do not really get to work with A-listers. Working with them helps in growth. I am lucky. I worked with Aamir Khan and A.R. Rahman in my first film ‘Ghajini’. But I have also put in a lot of hard work to be where I am today."

Quite recently, Asin has expressed a desire to work in movies that are more character oriented. She's tasted oh so sweet success in commercial cinema and now is hoping for some roles that truly test her skills as an actor.
