The late director will be honoured as the Father of Contemporary Indian Cinema at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IIFM) 2013 and a theatre is to be named the "Yash Chopra Cinema" for a year.
The director of the festival, Mitu Bhowmick Lange is happy to announce this and feel blessed that Melbourne as a city has been blessed by Yash Chopra as some of his films were shot there.
The filmmaker's retrospective will be inaugurated by Pamela Chopra and some of his best works will be screened such as Veer-Zaara, Silsila, Dil Toh Pagal Hai, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Kabhi Kabhi, Lamhe, etc.
