While all the details of the long-awaited sequel to Mr India are still to be worked out, one is now in the position to safely let out that the sequel would have Sridevi recreating her Hawa Hawaii dance number in a completely different avatar.
From what one hears it would be choreographer Ahmed Khan who will be given the onus of recreating the Hawa Hawaii magic that Saroj Khan had created in the original Mr India.
Why Ahmed Khan? One may well ask... Here’s something that has so far been unknown. Ahmed actually choreographed Sridevi at the age 11 in Mr India!
Revealing this unknown fact Ahmed, who played one of Anil Kapoor’s adopted children, in Mr India, said, “Yes, it’s true. I did get the privilege to choreograph Sridevi in Mr India. I was 11 years old and already passionate about dancing. We were in a hospital, shooting the sequence, where that little girl Tina dies. Sridevi was put up in a secluded room in the hospital. During a break, from shooting, she called me to the room and told me to show her some break dance steps. I readily showed them to her. She incorporated them in her dance number.”
Now as a 38-year old fan of Sridevi, Ahmed, is looking forward to choreographing Sridevi again in the sequel to Mr India.
