Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who played Farhan Akhtar's father in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, doesn't think much of the writer/actor/director's work.
The actor who is renowned the world over is always straightforward with his interview quips. He recently told Times of India that he doesn't see new directors pushing the envelope. "It's not soon before I can see Dibakar Banerjee conforming. The signs were clearly visible with Shanghai."
And he's not too impressed with the Jack of all trades Farhan Akhtar. "His films I clearly don't care for. I liked his first film Dil Chahta Hai. He's a tremendous person and has so many facets to him. Tomorrow I won't be surprised if I hear that he cooked a 10 course meal to perfection. He sings, acts, produces films and writes, I think it's great he's doing whatever he can. I'm not a great fan of his acting or his films. But I admire him", says Naseer.
And which actors does he like? "We have great actors like Irrfan, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and Vijay Rao. He's fantastic! Then there is Pankaj Kapur who has always been around. Even Kay Kay Menon is good but he has not got what he deserves. There's also Manoj Bajpayee".
However, his favourite co actor remains Arshad Warsi. The duo was seen together in Ishqiya and will also be seen in Dedh Ishqiya. "As a co actor, I loved working with Arshad. He's very funny and a great fun. He keeps all seriousness at bay and keeps things light," says Naseer.
