Ranveer Singh, being one of the top stars of the current days, was spoilt for choice when he had to choose between Karan Johar's 'Shhuddhi' and Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani'. We now know the movie of his choice, and that, apparently, did not leave the other filmmaker Karan Johar, very pleased.
In a recent report by Rajeev Masand in Open Magazine, he mentions that Karan Johar is upset with Ranveer Singh for letting him down. Apparently, Ranveer had not only given his nod to Shhuddhi but also had officially visited KJo's office and had committed to Shhuddhi in good faith.
When SLB approached him for 'Bajirao Mastani', Ranveer apparently explained the situation to him and asked if he could wait until he completed Shhuddhi. The report states that SLB did not agree to this arrangement and made it clear that Ranveer owes him, as the filmmaker had given Ranveer, his biggest hit, Ram-leela.
News has it that Ranveer Singh was then obliged to make this choice and announced with deep regret, the sad news to Karan.
In a recent interview to Mumbai Mirror, when Karan was asked if SLB 'poached' his stars Ranveer and Deepika, Karan had said, "I'd like to believe that a filmmaker of his stature would never resort to poaching. There was no formal announcement on our part, about the cast, it was all media speculation. I'm just happy and proud to have Salman. This is our first major collaboration after his special appearance in my debut film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai."
