If this attached public notice (published in TOI, July 24, 2014) is anything to go by, deceased superstar Rajesh Khanna's bungalow, Vardanaasshirwad, spread across 722 square yards, on the upscale Carter Road, in suburban Mumbai, may no longer attract fans from far and wide.
The current owners and daughters of the deceased actor, Twinkle Khanna and Rinke Khanna are in the process of selling the property where Rajesh Khanna breathed his last. A source close to the family confirms this new development, saying: "It's a decision that they have arrived at after much deliberation over months and we must respect it."
Sections of the film industry have expressed their shock at the daughters' decision because Dimple Kapadia had plans to turn into a unique museum complete movie memorabilia from the late actor's blockbuster films. A source adds,"The estate had the potential of becoming a landmark address for all film buffs. I'm deeply disappointed to know that it would belong to someone else soon."
